YOU ARE WELCOME HERE

WHAT TO EXPECT

We know that joining a new church for worship or Bible study can be an intimidating process. We want to make sure that any questions you have about what to expect when you gather with us are answered here.

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

Romans 15:4

on Sundays

Every Sunday, we gather together for a time of worship, prayer, study of the Bible, communion, and encouragement.

When you arrive, you will be greeted warmly and invited to take a bulletin that includes pertinent information for our community. We have a station where you can prepare yourself a warm cup of coffee, hot chocolate, or tea. You are free to choose a seat anywhere. We sit around tables in the main room of our building.

At 9:30 am, we have Bible study for adults and children of all ages. Our children begin their class by singing together and then spend the remaining hour learning about God's character, and the stories and people of the Bible.

All adults are invited to stay in the main room as we are guided in a discussion on a passage of scripture. We work together to understand the text and it's significance for our lives as we follow God's will.

Worship

We meet for worship at 10:30 am. During worship, we sing together without instruments. We love to hear each voice join in praise of God. Between songs, we will be led in prayer.

And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Ephesians 5:18-21

Communion

Each week, we share communion with one another. Communion is the meal that Jesus invited his disciples to share with him at the Last Supper. We share a piece of bread and a cup of juice as reminders of Jesus' body that suffered on the cross and Jesus' blood shed on that same cross.

Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Matthew 26:26-28

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Offering

After communion, we set aside a moment to invite the members of our community to give financially to support the work of God through our church. No one is required to give. The only requirement is to give with a heart of gratitude.

After our offering, a member of our community will share a message from the word of God. Those who share do so from their personal study and a deep desire to speak with the guidance and wisdom of the Holy Spirit.

We close our time together by sharing requests for prayers on behalf of ourselves or someone we love. Everyone is invited to share a prayer request and we will close by praying for those mentioned and their needs.

After worship, we invite you to stay and allow us the opportuntity to get to know you! We are so thankful that you want to visit our community and we pray that you will leave encouraged by you time with us. We pray that you will consider returning and become a permanent part of our family.
